Honda Unicorn: A Reliable and Performance-Oriented Ride

Honda Unicorn Features

The Honda Unicorn doesn't have any fancy stuff. It has a basic DC bulb headlight and a simple analogue console. The console has a speedometer and odometer in the middle, a tachometer and fuel gauge on the left, and some small lights on the right.

Honda Unicorn Engine Specifications

Honda's decision to reintroduce the same 162.7cc engine in the Unicorn bike reflects a commitment to reliability and proven performance. Despite maintaining the same single-cylinder configuration and air cooling system, this engine offers notable improvements in power and torque compared to its predecessor.

With a power output of 12.9PS, the new engine matches the performance of the previous 150cc engine, ensuring consistent acceleration and responsiveness. However, where it truly shines is in torque delivery, boasting an increase of 1.2Nm, now reaching 14Nm. This enhancement in torque not only enhances the bike's pulling power but also contributes to smoother and more effortless rides, particularly in challenging terrains or during overtaking maneuvers.

Furthermore, the decision to retain the five-speed transmission underscores Honda's confidence in the gearbox's efficiency and suitability for the bike's performance characteristics. The unchanged transmission ensures familiarity for riders accustomed to the Unicorn's shifting dynamics while maintaining optimal gearing ratios for a balanced blend of power and fuel efficiency.

Honda Unicorn Suspension and Brakes

The Honda Unicorn is built on the same base as the Unicorn 150. It has a basic suspension system with a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the back. The Unicorn BS6 model has one version available. It comes with a 240mm disc brake in the front and a 130mm drum brake in the rear. Plus, it has standard single-channel ABS for safety.
